The Vintage Set | How to Style...

As you well know, The Vintage Set is one of my favourite shops online. I was a little bit over the moon when the ever gorgeous Charlotte contacted me and asked if I’d like to receive an item to style on my blog. Of course, being the vintage perve that I am, I said yes.
Firstly, let’s appreciate the cuteness of the cardigan and give Charlotte a massive thumbs up for her vintage thrifting eye. I’ve taken quite a fancy to corals of late and I’m severely lacking in the cardigan department, so this was a welcome addition to my wardrobe.
Secondly, this post will be a tad different from my usual – I’m going to show you how I would style this beauty for two different occasions. As you’ve probably picked up from on my other outfit posts I like to try and add something exciting to my outfit every day, I think it’s important to make the most of yourself and your wardrobe! (Of course we all have lazy days, where we sit writing blog posts in our pyjamas, ahem). But I thought it would be quite interesting to show you how I’d wear this outfit for a night out i.e. casual drinks / a bit of a boogie and also for just a casual mooching, shopping day! I think sometimes people are a bit nervous of shopping vintage - I want to show you how it can easily fit in with today's fashion, and make an outfit that little bit more interesting!

Cardigan: c/o The Vintage Set. Disco Pants: American Apparel. Shoes: Zara. Belt: Thrifted
I haven’t worn my disco pants for a while now, I find myself doing this all the time – I fall in love with something, wear it to death and then it gets made redundant to the back of my wardrobe for probably the rest of life. But when I saw this cardigan I knew I would pair them together. I quite like matching a bit of bagginess with tighty-tighty – and teamed with my little Zara heels I felt every inch Olivia Newton-John (/ of course I didn’t but you know).

Dress: Olive & Frank. Boots: Hudson of London
When I opt for a bit of comfort in an outfit it’s usually ‘let’s have no shape, be floaty and be done with it’ - In moo land (that’s my nickname, yes I’m cool) that’s the definition of comfort. I think the cardi matches perfectly with my little slip dress from Olive & Frank and it’s definitely a Sunday lunch type of outfit.
Please do take a peek at The Vintage Set website, and give them a follow on to be the first to know about special discounts and bargain vintage buys!
What do you think about how I’ve styled the cardigan? How would you style yours?

Outfit Post | The Vintage Set Returns

Today, I feel positive. You know when you get stuck in a bit of an emotional rut and everything seems to be pretty crappy? Yeah, that. Sometimes it can be the biggest chore to pull yourself out of it, but with a little help from some wonderful people in my life (lovely fellow bloggers included) I'm starting to feel a bit more normal. And what better way to celebrate than with an outfit post. Haha. So smooth Megs, so smooth.

Hat: Topshop. Jeans: Topshop. Blouse: C/O The Vintage Set. Bag: Vintage. Boots: H by Hudson. Belt: Vintage Lipstick: Topshop Infrared.
It's no secret that I am a bit of a sucker for The Vintage Set. Not only do they boast the most amazing Vintage finds (this shirt being one of them), but Charlotte is literally such a darling. She started her very own blog last week too, go and check it out :) I always think it's so refreshing to have a lovely person behind a great brand. I was lucky enough to be picked by Charlotte to write a guest post over on The Vintage Set blog, where I answer a few vintage-y questions! If you want to have a nose, click here to read the full interview :)

This outfit, albeit a bit country (which seems to be a regular choice for me?!), is I think slightly transitional. The days of bare legs and floaty dresses are done for this year and therefore it is time for jeans and a good pair of boots with woolly socks. Agreed? Good. And even though it's a little bit more chilly, there's still a wee bit of sunshine holding out. Which is why this shirt is so perfect. It's thin, floaty, pretty and simple, all of my favourite things in a garment; and I'm particularly fond of the collar.

Hope you all had a fabby weekend. Mine consisted of Photography homework, watching an Elvis impersonator and copious amounts of sewing. Bloody brilliant.

Outfit Post | The Vintage Set

One of the many reasons I love Twitter is for the avenue’s it opens; the possibilities of discovering new people/places are endless. So I was super-duper happy when Charlotte from The Vintage Set sent me a little tweet, telling me to check out her shop. And I am so glad I did, it’s uh-mazin’ (seriously go look, NOW). We got chat-a-lattin and it wasn’t long before I’d made my first purchase…

It arrived in absolutely no time at all, and how utterly beautiful is the packaging? I was so impressed :). As you may have guessed from previous posts, I am a sucker for anything vintage and I literally squealed when I saw this ‘unidays leather satchel bag’….

Hat: Topshop, Top: Vintage, Skirt: Zara, Shoes: F-Troupe, Belt: Primark

Waaa it’s so beautiful it makes me want to cry, haha. It’s the perfect size to fit all my clutter in and I love the suede badge embroidered on to the front, it makes me feel like I’m off to Hogwarts!

The Vintage Set is a new little company on the big wide web specialising in 1920-1980’s vintage garments. I found it so refreshing looking through their site; instead of being swamped with pages of clothes, there are only a few high quality vintage items to choose from in each section. Quality over quantity is something I really love, especially when the prices are so affordable too. With a little bit of discount thrown my way, I picked my little satchel up for only £17 (inc. p&p). And for a pristine leather bag, I think that’s pretty awesome. All the items on the site are marked up A, B or C, A being mint condition to C where the product has noticeable wear, so you know what you’re purchasing from the offset. Ranging from a Camo army jacket to floral midi-skirts there really is something for everyone. Not only are the pieces fantastic so is the customer service; Charlotte was such a joy to chat to and replied to any queries I had almost immediately.

I think it’s so special when you find a really lovely company, and I just couldn’t wait to shout from the roof tops about it to you wonderful lot.

What do you think of the bag? It’s my new favourite.
