Hello my darlings,

Back to happiness!

Sometimes my blog hands me seriously wonderful, crazy opportunitues and this week was one of my favourites yet.
I got the chance to work on a little collaboration with John Lewis and their (see for all the snaps, deets and more).

What is the Winterflora Edit, you say? Well, let me tell you...

It's John Lewis' winter twist on floral, autumnal trends. And to showcase the collection they picked myself and the (absolutely breathtakingly beautiful) Laura who writes the blog , to participate in a photo shoot come YouTube video.

I was so super excited to take part that I wanted to blog the footage. For memories, but also so you guys could see how much fun I had.

I hope you enjoy it and keep your eyes peeled for the finished photographs and video which will be appearing on here and my YouTube channel!

How it Feels to be Heartbroken

A blog post on how it feels to have your heartbroken and that it's okay not to be okay
And then there was a sadness in her heart that couldn't be lifted.
A weight so heavy that the pressure of it pushing down made her bones ache. A weight so crushingly suffocating even a silver lining couldn't soften it.
And then there was the realisation.
This was what it felt to be heartbroken.
Heartache.

It's a bizarre feeling. To be aware of your feelings and what's causing them, but have absolutely no definitive answer as to why you feel numb, nothing and then absolutely everything so horribly intensely all at once. Of course, heartbreak is what it says on the tin: a love so great that doesn't go to plan. But no one can ever prepare you for the feeling.

I suppose we all feel it differently - who is to say what heartache actually is.

All I know is that the world goes on, but that even in that truth you couldn't care less. Who needs to know that everything will be alright in the end when you thought what you had would last forever?

Words of comfort don't help but are expected, received and filed away for when you can look back and appreciate them.

A constant and overwhelming nausea of everything you ever experienced coming to an end consumes you - to start a new beginning, to begin again.

And I think that's what it means, to truly have loved - knowing that no matter the cards you were dealt, no matter the hurt, you will always love them and you will always hold a piece of them. In a good, peaceful way.

I've learned, lately, that writing things down help me and that sometimes, somehow it helps other people too.

I know we'll be fine. We'll carry on and life will be wonderful. But for now, I am sad and confused and angry and all the other emotions x100. That's okay, though.

'Tis better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all. - Alfred, Lord Tennyson.

Afternoon tea. What better way to my heart? (apart from perhaps Joseph Gordon-Levitt served on a plate, ahem).

Back to reality with a delicious thud, at the .

A blistering hot day in the city called for a table situated in the - a backdrop of bamboo, flowering trees and a meandering stream created instant tranquility. With menus buried in old hardback books, sugar cubes served in jewellery boxes and flavoured tea leaves in perfume bottles it wasn't going to take much to make it the best Afternoon Tea I've experienced.

I opted for mint chocolate chip tea - yes that is a thing (the best thing FYI). Alongside an array of rolled up sandwiches, marshmallow toadstools and even a 'drink me' bottle filled with 3 layers of crazy good flavours, I could've easily been Alice in Wonderland.

Now, you may have noticed some pretty little additions to the table, in the form of . Amidst the amazing food, I was really there to find out more about this American brand.

The packaging is simple and pretty with no fuss. Clearly, organic and natural brands are huge - everyone is getting on the hype, but One Love Organics are one of the better ones. They use 100% natural ingredients, don't plump any of them up with water and are all hand-made - and because they're so pure, it means their products are multi-purpose, making them suitable for you, me, our grandmas and our babies. Being an organic brand, some products can be pretty pricey - but with some items starting as low as £9.00 you'll be sure to find something within everyone's budget.

Keep your eyes peeled for a in-depth review on the products themselves, I'm particularly excited to get down and dirty clean with the masque.

Probably definitely one of my favourite events I've attended since starting blogging - and I can't wait to share more with you on this lovely brand!

Who doesn't love a good hay bale? My little sister Lily and I went on a country walk and she hoisted me up on top of the hay for a few cheeky outfit shots. We didn't realise how immensely windy it was going to be so these shots are the best of a bad bunch - yes my hat did fly off numerous times. But it's all in the name of fun, and we did have a giggle :-)

I'm sad to say that this may well be my last summer inspired outfit post as the sun seems to be a bit peed off of late, hiding behind grey clouds for hours upon end.

So summer, if this is it, I bid you farewell in the summeriest outfit I own.

Beautiful Bottoms Lingerie: A Review

Every girl has their 'thing'. A weakness for something beautiful, be it shoes, handbags or men guaranteed there isn't a woman in this world who doesn't covet something.

My weakness? Lingerie.

When I first started wearing a bra (shout out to Tammy Girl), I could not stand wearing anything that wasn't padded, under-wired and frankly, ugly as hell. It ain't no secret that I ain't blessed in the lady lumps department, and when I was younger all I wanted to do was try and make them look bigger.

Then I grew up and realised there was a hell of a lot more to undies than I first thought. Embracing the bee stings I swapped my push-up plunges for lacy loincloths and felt like a new woman - My underwear drawer became the favourite part of my wardrobe.

Don't get me wrong, I totally still wear old granny pants, but for the days I want to feel sexy? Gimme gimme.

This set, from is my newest addition and has to be the most incredible lace set I've ever owned.

With a silk covered elastic back and white lace cup it doesn't get more comfortable or beautiful than this. The knickers fit like a dream - there's nothing better than wearing lingerie that feels like it's not even there, and although it's pricey it's the perfect treat to you (and him).

Not only is it a set for the boudoir, but it also looks incredible under sheer clothing - I could gush for hours, but you get the gist.

I know this may not suit the ladies whose boobies are bountiful - but if you're lacking a little like me and want something to make you feel properly gorgeous? Look no further.

Raise Awareness for Depression | What Do We Know?

Talking about depression and how we can raise awareness for it. What do we know about depression? How can we do more to help?

And what do we know of depression?

Very little.

Today we lost a man, a true genius - Robin Williams. It makes me sad that it's taken this tragic loss to spark the idea that I speak about depression on my blog. It makes me sad that amongst the wonderful memories of him being shared online, there are bouts of misunderstood, confused individuals, claiming selfishness played a part in his departure. It makes me sad that we aren't educated, as a society, to cope with the sheer volume of individuals battling depression. It makes me sad that such a travesty must occur to raise awareness for an illness as severe as depression. It makes me sad, that not many see depression as an illness.

Depression has a face

That usually represents a smile. Because when one smiles on the outside, it seldom means their feelings are replicated on the inside - quite the contrary actually. Statistically 1 in 4 of us will suffer with a mental illness at some point in our lives. When you think about a physical illness, such as Cancer, with statistics of 1 in 3, they're pretty similar in severity - so why aren't we taking it more seriously?

If someone is ill...with something you can look at, objectify, we don't necessarily have to have experienced that illness to understand it. We can sympathise, we offer ourselves unwittingly to be of service in any way we can, to help soften the blow, ease the pain. So why aren't we doing the same for depression?

It's difficult to look at someone, like Robin, who on the outside is everything you wish you could be. Effortlessly hilarious, successful - but what we need to recognise is that there doesn't have to be something bad going on in your life to suffer with depression. Sentences like 'but their life is so perfect, they seem so happy, I just don't understand' really get my goat. Guess what, they don't get it either.

We don't have to understand. In fact, we can't, just like you can't really understand Cancer unless you've had it. But what we can do is try to support and recognise.

Depression is loneliness

Now I don't claim to be an expert, but if one thing is clear to me it's that it stems from an empty feeling, that can't be explained. The lack of support, the unknown, the negative stigma surrounding it, all these factors make someone suffering afraid to speak out.

Why should we put ourselves on the line? To essentially be told: SWIM, GOD DAMMIT, when clearly we are drowning?

Because realistically, that's the awful opinion many of us have. 'You can do it, you just have to believe in yourself', I'm afraid is not the answer and 9/10 will just push that person further away.

We raise money for Cancer by running races, coppin' a feel, baking a cake, because well that's what you do isn't it? When did you last think about raising money for ? Point and case.

My beautiful friend, , posted this snippet from one of Robin's best:

"Mork & Mindy: In Mork We Trust (#1.21)" (1979)
Orson: The report, Mork.
Mork: This week I discovered a terrible disease called loneliness.
Orson: Do many people on Earth suffer from this disease?
Mork: Oh yes sir, and how they suffer. One man I know suffers so much he has to take a medication called bourbon, even that doesn't help very much because then he can hear paint dry.
Orson: Does bed rest help?
Mork: No because I've heard that sleeping alone is part of the problem. You see, Orson, loneliness is a disease of the spirit. People who have it think that no one cares about them.
Orson: Do you have any idea why?
Mork: Yes sir you can count on me. You see, when children are young, they're told not to talk to strangers. When they go to school, they're told not to talk to the person next to them. Finally when they're very old, they're told not to talk to themselves, who's left?
Orson: Are you saying Earthlings make each other lonely?
Mork: No sir I'm saying just the opposite. They make themselves lonely, they're so busy looking out for number one that there's not enough room for two.
Orson: It's too bad everybody down there can't get together and find a cure.
Mork: Here's the paradox sir because if they did get together, they wouldn't need one.

It struck a chord, it made me cry, because even when saying the words out loud, no-one is listening. So please, if we do one thing today, let's speak out about depression, let ourselves be vulnerable if we suffer, let ourselves be strong for others if we don't.

Together we can combat this awful illness, together we can make the world a less lonely place. Together we can ease the pain.

For Robin, words can't explain the joy you brought to so many lives. A hero, in every sense of the word. xxx

Right now is my favourite time - we've just about sucked as much as we can out of summer in the UK and we're safely making our way to the Autumn transition, which means one thing: best wardrobe period.

This off the shoulder cropped jumper from Missguided is perfection. Thick enough to take through to the winter months, but baring enough of the skin to keep you cool, it hangs beautifully over literally any item of clothing.
Today, I've paired it with my first ever pair of which can I just say are the comfiest effin' shorts my booty has ever experienced.

To soften the look I've added my beloved earrings and hair clip from Kelsey's Feathers. The love I have for Kelsey's online etsy store goes above and beyond a healthy obsession. Handmade to order and shipped all over the world these beauties help to give any outfit a chic, bohemian feel - not only are they mega affordable but shipping costs less than most UK stores. Gimme them ALL Kelsey, I'm in love, girl.

Eating out is everyone's favourite treat, am I right? Yeah I'm right.

There's a cute little café that's recently opened it's doors near my hometown - .

and I headed down there once upon a Sunday for a spot of brunch, you know, ladies that lunch, early? Poached eggs and bacon on chunky toast with a strawberry smoothie on the side was my choice and boy was it a goodun'.

Situated on the pretty side of Kettering town, sandwiched between the museum and library it's the perfect pit stop to re-fuel. With quaint little touches, such as tables made of suitcases and lived in arm chairs it's a home from home sort of experience.
Every thing is freshly made to order, so it's not exactly fast food - but it does taste heavenly and is certainly worth a little wait. You know the likes of Café Nero? Where it feels like a place you can take your work, nestle down and enjoy a bit of you time? That's this place - but half the price and twice the fun.

It's so nice having your breakfast made for you and when it's only a few pounds for such a lovely plate of food, I'm leaving smiling.

Floral Lace Crop: Topshop (Similar here). Leggings: Zara. Sandals: . Bag: Vintage

I picked up this Topshop lace blouse a few weeks back and it's the first time I've gone in to store for a long while and actually found a piece I'm like, properly in love with. It easily looks like something I could've nabbed from a vintage collection and everything about it just makes my heart sing. Sadly, everyone else loved it too and it's sold out now - but this one is pretty lovely too, right?

There's something a bit naughty about white/cream trousers isn't there? But you know what? I'm a blinking rebel and ruddy love these ones from Zara. I did spot them in the sale this week...so you might be able to still nab a pair in store!

Finishing up the outfit with a charity shop find handbag and potentially the chicest, comfiest I've ever witnessed the fitness of. are my friends, they always fulfill my summer feet needs and these newbies are no exception.

Happy Friday, you saucy sauce pots.
