Life at the moment just seems to be a never ending whirlwind of madness. Good madness, mind - but madness nonetheless.

Needless to say sleep is one of the things I look forward to most of late. It may sound silly but it's true - to function as the best possible version of myself a bloody good nights sleep is what I need.

My bedroom is my sanctuary. My quiet place. My escape. When I'm here it's for pure relaxation and that's just the way I like it.

So, what does a good nights sleep involve?

Asides from the world's comfiest bed (fact) it's the little things that help me sleep well.

I'll always have at least one bath a week to help me relax but something that's paramount for me is having wind down time before turning off the lights. I like to have a mug of peppermint tea, snuggle down in my comfies and read a book - forgive me for being old-fashioned but there needs to be a time where mobile phones are put down: allow yourself to remember who you are outside of the internet.

Almost every night I'll apply a body moisturiser with ingredients that promote a calm and deep sleep, such as lavender or chamomile and I'll also make sure I've laid out all my clothes for the next day.

You may say that all of the points above don't typically aid a good nights sleep - but it's all relative, it's about what your mind needs to relax. And it's these little things combined together that leave me with that tranquil, rested feeling.

Hello my darlings,

Back to happiness!

Sometimes my blog hands me seriously wonderful, crazy opportunitues and this week was one of my favourites yet.
I got the chance to work on a little collaboration with John Lewis and their (see for all the snaps, deets and more).

What is the Winterflora Edit, you say? Well, let me tell you...

It's John Lewis' winter twist on floral, autumnal trends. And to showcase the collection they picked myself and the (absolutely breathtakingly beautiful) Laura who writes the blog , to participate in a photo shoot come YouTube video.

I was so super excited to take part that I wanted to blog the footage. For memories, but also so you guys could see how much fun I had.

I hope you enjoy it and keep your eyes peeled for the finished photographs and video which will be appearing on here and my YouTube channel!

My Home Wishlist #1 | Dressing up your Dining Table!

Table Cloth, Floral Coaster, Spoon Placemat, Stag Set, Feather Placemat, Bird Coaster
If you read through my first edition to the home-y blog posts featuring my kitchen you’ll know that I spent that weekend painting, sanding, waxing and polishing our kitchen table to get it looking more to our taste – country kitchen meets shabby chic. The next stage will be buying accessories to dress the table up a little for when we have dinner parties – or just feel like being a bit jazzy on a weekday evening.

These table accessories from John Lewis are absolutely gorgeous and this shop is definitely my point of call when it comes to the kitchen. Having got our toaster and kettle from there (snaps here) I can sense a bit of a theme occurring. I particularly love the butterfly table cloth and all the pieces I’ve picked out are surprisingly affordable, if not a little bit of a treat. When you move in to your first home budget is key and each month I save myself a little bit of spending money, I think I might just have to save a few months worth of pennies and treat myself to the whole shebang (unless you guys are feeling generous ;))

Have you invested some time and money in any home improvements? I’d love to get some inspiration from you guys!
