Who doesn't love a good hay bale? My little sister Lily and I went on a country walk and she hoisted me up on top of the hay for a few cheeky outfit shots. We didn't realise how immensely windy it was going to be so these shots are the best of a bad bunch - yes my hat did fly off numerous times. But it's all in the name of fun, and we did have a giggle :-)

I'm sad to say that this may well be my last summer inspired outfit post as the sun seems to be a bit peed off of late, hiding behind grey clouds for hours upon end.

So summer, if this is it, I bid you farewell in the summeriest outfit I own.

Pyjama Party

Top and Trousers: Zara. Bag: George at ASDA. Shoes: Office
I walk in to Zara (more regularly than I should) and every single time there will be an outfit they've put together on the rails that I fall head over heels for. It just so happened that on this occasion I could actually justify treating myself to it and so, that's what I did.

There's something about the heavy fabric of the jumper that sits so well over the silky, loose fitted pants - that yes, look like pyjamas - and I simply love an outfit that you literally throw on and there's no need for anything else, no fuss, it just, does.

The knit jumper was on the pricey side, but is now in the sale HUZZAH! - the trousers however were under £30 which is pretty bloody awesome if you ask me.
I love the way they graze my ankles too...something I used to steer well clear of when I was at school, but an attribute I seek in trousers these days! Funny how these things change, eh?

Sunset Smock

Dress: Ever Ours*. Bag: Becksondergaard. Shoes: Office. Ray-bans: Sunglasses Shop*
Smock Dresses.

They're a funny one, aren't they? I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling that they require a particular taste...

At first, I turned my nose up at them, but when I actually dared try one on I was pleasantly surprised. The ridiculously baggy look is a fave of mine, so why not apply it to dresses too? They are literally perfect for Spring/Summer wear - let's face it we're all a bit lazier when it comes to our SS wardrobe, no-one wants to be fussin' over a tighty-whitey tee or something that clings to your booty.

Ever Ours is 100% your online destination for smock dresses of dreams. I'm partial to a lil' bit of print now and then and this gingham beauty with adorable cream trimmings is my favourite of the bunch.

I've also adopted a love for sunglasses where no-one can see your eyes - this is the ultimate 'I want to stare at people and not be seen' cover up. (I'm a people watcher FYI not a stalker, ahem). These Ray-bans remind me of something an American Cop would wear, and that makes me cool.
In summary: they're bloody lovely with their tortoise shell trim and ability to re-do your lipstick in the reflection, who wouldn't want a pair?

It just goes to show, that when you push yourself out of your comfort zone every now and then, it can lead to great things...wardrobe-wise anyway.

And don't get me started on my shoes.

I Heart Summer | TAG!

I know, I know I’ve been absent from YouTube for a good few months now. At the beginning I was really busy with the house move and settling in, but then it got to the point where I hadn’t filmed for so long I almost became scared of it! But last night I decided to bite the bullet and get my film on. Starting with the I heart Summer TAG – which the beautiful Helena from Edge of Beauty tagged me in.

I always love filming and watching tags, it’s a great way to get to know people a little better. So, I hope you liked it and if you have any video requests do let me know – I’m really hoping to film a lot more frequently now!

Happy Friday lovelies xxx

Outfit Post | Rekindling Love - Topshop

For a while, Topshop lost my trust. They were throwing out pieces of clothing that to be frank, didn't fit the bill. The quality was getting poor, and the price tag was getting increasingly higher. So for a while, I said ciao! But it's as if they knew! The cheeky devils are slowly (but surely), bringing me back over to the dark side. There have been a few pieces of late that I just haven't been able to resist like this dress , and this skirt I'm wearing below...

Sandals: River Island

I absolutely love it. It's like, do I want a long skirt on or a short skirt on? Hmm, I want both. VOILÀ! the midi-skirt is definitely a must have for me and this one makes me want to purchase a few more. The shade is gorgeous and the cut makes for ultimate swhishy-ness, which we all know I love!
The gorgeous Lily, of I am Lily Bee was selling a few of her GORGEOUS clothes on ebay, (not gunna lie, want to be her a little bit ;)) and I snapped up this lovely little lace crop top for a fraction of the price it retailed at (also Topshop). I thought it went beautifully with the purple midi skirt, which retailed for £38. They don't have my one in stock any more, but they have brought out a new one which is a bit yummy in it's replacement, have a peek here if you like mine!

When I'm on holiday, I like to feel comfortable, but also look like I've made a bit of an effort with myself. And I think this outfit ticks both boxes, do you?

Life in general is not so peachy at the moment. I won’t go into any detail, but I will say a big thank you for all your lovely comments on my blog as of late. It really makes my day brighter :) (Apologies for that slice of cheese there, but it felt necessary). You are a wonderful lot!

Hope all is fine and dandy your end :)

Burt's Bees Reviews #1 | Lip Shimmer

You may have seen a recent post of mine, where I purchased & wrote about the Burt’s Bees Grab Bag. If you didn't, & you fancy a quickie you can have a look . I received lots of little goodies; and I’m slowly working my way through them, one by one :)

They sent me quite a few of their Lip Shimmers; I'M IN LOVE, seriously. The ones I received came in shade rhubarb (yum); & I’d say the colour is very true to that. Obviously, being lip shimmers, they don’t carry a lot of pigmentation; however I absolutely love this shade & how it instantly brightens your lips. The gloss is very subtle & extremely moisturising. It smells just like peppermint, & gives a tingling soothing sensation on application - perfect for summer! These babies are made up with 100% natural ingredients which is something I really love & tend to look for in a product. Personally, I really love the packaging; I'm a little bit in love with Burt's Bees & the simplicity of their products aesthetically. The lip shimmers are available in 10 different shades & retail at £5.99.

I think I’m definitely going to purchase a few more colours.

What do you think? Have you tried these before? If not, & you wouldn't mind giving them a whirl you can grab them off the Burt's Bees website, here.

Ooh, P.S. I finally hopped on the iPhone wagon…so I’m now officially instagram obsessed. If you fancy following me, my username is: wonderfuly0u

Sunny Saturday

I know it's a little delayed, but thought I would do a quick post on what I got up to over the weekend. No need to hold on to your seats guys...it's nothing too exciting! :)

This weekend, in my eyes, was the first which has felt like a little touch of summer was creeping in. I mean, it wasn’t ‘let’s strip off & run around in our swimsuits squirting each other with water guns’ type of weather; but it was definitely an excuse to whip out a summer dress & feed the ducks. My recent summer post actually reminded me of a little dress I loved last year, so I popped that on & off we trotted.

We drove down to a local spot & fed the duckies. Honestly, I have never seen so much bread in my life, it was crazy. Where did the idea come from that we feed them bread anyway? I’m sure they must get sick of it. Any way, they ate a whole loaf of ours. After that, we headed to the pub for a quick drink before stuffing our faces at nando’s, as you do. Finished off with a few drinkies in front of the TV, oh.my.god. Koppaberg is amazing. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of alcohol. I don’t know, I just don’t really like the taste; which makes it difficult when going out with friends, or if the boy fancies a bottle over dinner. So when I discovered this I was a happy bunny. It just takes like fruit juice, which is perhaps a bit lethal in my case; as I’ll happily chug away, probably resulting in copious trip up’s & saying hello to many a hedge. I also received a rather lovely bouquet from the boy; I’d had a bit of a crappy week, so this made me very happy indeedy.

What did you wonderful lot get up to over the weekend? Hope you all made the most of the minimal sunshine, now the heavens have opened again. Ah, England. I love you & your crappy weather ways.

P.S. instagram makes me want an iPhone even more. Stinking Blackberry, why you hate me?

Sun, Sea &....Sun?

I don’t know about anyone else. But I desperately need a holiday. Pronto. I’ve been sifting through some old holiday snaps & it got me feeling all antsy. Whilst I’ve learnt to embrace the ‘English Rose’ look that seems to take over during the colder months, after half a year of looking whiter than Casper, I think I’ve earned a jolly good tan.

The boy & I are going away to Italy for 2 weeks in August; we’ll be staying with my family, & the villa looks absolutely beautiful. It even has a few horses so we can go riding, eep! Very excited indeedy.
This is said 'Boy'

We’re also going to Australia for 3 weeks over Christmas; we’re staying with his Aunty in Melbourne, Victoria. I CANNOT WAIT. I’ve never ventured out of Europe, so this is going to be a real treat. However, I have no idea what I’m doing. & I’m awful at planning things in life, so no doubt I’ll leave it too late to research all the hotspots & amazing things I should be doing whilst I’m there. If I was rich, I would employ some ravishing life-planner man to sort me out. Ahem, I know what you’re thinking; it would be purely platonic ladies. It’s just nice to have eye candy with your organisation, right?

I do hate wishing time away, but I really wish it would bloomin’ hurry up! Although I love being a little country bumpkin, living in a pretty little village in England, I do sometimes wonder why my family didn’t decide to be kind & live somewhere hot. Not that I’m bitter or anything.

So, do any of you lot have some advice on what I should get up to in Melbourne? I think I’ll need all the help I can get. The only thing I have on my list so far is penguin watching. Apparently there’s a lovely little spot on a beach where you can watch them all walk up out of the water at the same time, awhh :)

I also believe holiday shopping will commence rather shortly.

Where are you all off to on your jolly's this year? Are you excited? :)

Lipstick Love

It is no secret to anyone who knows me, that I LOVE a good lipstick here and there. Much to the dismay of my boyfriend, who for some reason hates them? I say, never mind, I’m sure that’s one thing I’m okay not to compromise on!!

So, on that note, I thought I would share with you the lipsticks that are my absolute favourites so far for 2012.

Starting with Laura Mercier: Gel Lip Colour in Doll Face. So, packaging is always quite important to me, who doesn’t like whipping out their lipstick on a night out and it looking rather wonderful? I do. And I think this one ticks that box 100%. The tube is almost aubergine in colour with tiny little flecks of glitter running throughout. It’s quite a petite size too, so it slots nicely into your makeup bag. It's a light wearing formula, which is perfect for summer and the taste is soooo yummy! You get little bursts of vanilla every time you smack your lips, but it's not too over powering. Although it is a little on the pricey side, £18.50, I find it really difficult to find a lipstick that doesn't dry my lips out, or rub off instantly, and this does neither. It's super moisturising and has great staying power, in my eyes, it's completely worth the money. I got mine here but Laura Mercier is everywhere if you want to pick one up.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Red Square.  These, are genius, genius I tell you! I have already been spreading my nars-love around the office informing colleagues that these are the best lipsticks ever, ever, ever.  It’s a bit of a twist on your typical lipstick, being a pencil and all, but I love it; plus you’re getting a lot more product for your money. In terms of longevity I would say it’s quite like applying a lip liner all over your lips, it goes NOWHERE but application is really smooth and you don’t have to press hard at all for full coverage. Honestly, I have never known a lipstick like it. If you’re like me, and a little bit lazy at reapplying throughout the day/night then this is the lipstick for you. If I apply first thing in the morning before work I don’t need to reapply until I finish for the day, at the earliest. The pigmentation is incredible, and I absoultely love orange, plus this one makes your teeth look pearly white :). I usually suffer with matte lipsticks, drying and chapping of the licks, but not with this one! Again not a cheapy one, they retail for £17.50, though I think this post represents my undying love for it. I got mine in Fenwick’s in London, but you can pick one up here.
and this is what they look like :)

So what do you think of these two shades? Do you have a favourite for 2012 so far?
