Hey Four Eyes..

I've been wearing glasses now for the past two years; not constantly, just when my eyes started to get a bit tired after starring at the computer screen for too long, or getting engrossed in a ridiculously long (but brilliant) book. I must admit, at first I was horrified; I cried, (yes I am a complete baby), and thought I looked just, well, silly really. I know you'll all be thinking "why didn't you just go for contacts?” arhhhhhhh dsfjhdsfsgtidfjk, would be my answer. I have a massive fear of anything that involves eyeballs, so touching them is something I don’t think I’ll ever be able to do. But now, after two years of wearing them, I can say I finally feel a little bit of confidence seeping out. I don’t feel embarrassed and I’m actually a teeny bit happy I have them.

It’s a good job really, as I popped to the opticians a few weeks ago, and was told my eyesight had deteriorated slightly (I had noticed, I had just chosen not to acknowledge the fact), which meant I’d need to wear glasses pretty much all the time. And, seeing as I was now quite partial to a touch of spectacle wearing, I thought I would indulge in a new pair; and here they are:
excuse the bobbily forehead - yum

What do you think of them?  Do any of you choose glasses over contacts? When I’ve put a little bit more money aside, I think I might splurge on another pair. Well, I am going to be wearing them full time, and a girl has to accessorise right? Good :)

You look lovely, I love the shape of your glasses. I also wear glasses (only for reading or when my eyes are tired), but now I finally moved to contacts. So much better. x

I love them I used to wish I had to wear glasses. I'm glad I don't now though because there's noway I could afford them I'd have to steadily go blind or have NHS specs lol & I could never wear contacts have a fear of anything being near my face never mind my eye lol

awh don't worry about that, there are some fantastic lower priced glasses :) & yes I know the feeling, I don't think I'll ever be able to do it. It makes my tummy go all funny just thinking about it! x

I've worn glasses since I was 14 but never think I can carry them off (I just look geeky and not in a cool way.) I've always worn contacts when going out but have never been able to wear them all day - until this week when I got new silicone toric monthlies! I'm so happy that I don't have to hide behind my specs any more, but I think you can definitely carry those off.

It's funny how everyone feels so differently about wearing specs isn't it? I never thought I would feel comfortable or confident wearing mine; but I just had to suck it up because I can't bear to touch my eyes :( I'm sure you would love lovely in glasses, you've just got to believe it too :) but it looks like your silicone toric's have saved the day! xx

I cried too when I had to get glasses, I did not want them period and I wasn't able to get contacts until a few years later. For the most part I do wear contacts, but I just got new glasses fairly recently & at first I didn't like them -but they grew on me. I treat them like an accessory nowadays.

You look really cute with them, btw!

Try this website for glasses: www.zennioptical.com! They are super cheap and i've gotten 6 pairs of prescription glasses from there and never paid over $25 for a pair. Oh, and you look super cute in your new glasses so no worries there! :)

Oooh thank you! Wow, they've got some great frames on there, and so cheap. I will definitely look in to them the next time I make a purchase. Thanks again :) x
