Shift Dress: c/o beloved. Sandals: Primark. Bag: Zara. Hat: Topshop |
Dressing for work when you don’t have a dress code can be tricky in the summer – especially with the weather we're having, it’s sweltering!! (I'm not complaining)
The thing I find myself most nervous of is dressing inappropriately – what’s too short? What’s too low-cut? It main seem a little ridiculous, but yes, these are real problems in my life haha. To be honest I think this dress is the perfect combination. It’s a shift dress so it’s not too tight or low cut (always a bonus), it also has a lovely length to it so there’s no need to be concerned about showing too much thigh. I particularly love the contrasting black and lime panelling and the collar detail – ooh and the capped sleeves (okay, so I particularly love all of it apparently). Not only is it my new staple for work attire it’s also perfect for other occasions such as dinner or perhaps a graduation – which is what I wore it to the other day :)
Is your job strictly office wear? Or do you have a more relaxed approach too? I'd love to know what you're wearing to keep cool in this amazing heat!
Your hair looks so beautiful!

Gorgeous dress :) looks great on you. My job is mostly office wear but with a casual twist. I've found that my dress which looks fine with black tights in winter doesn't look so great bare legged in summer. Terrified of flashing!

My work has a relaxed dress code - I say relaxed, but we must be covered up and look semi-smart, the only truly banned item is blue jeans, which is fab because we can still express out personalities through our clothes, just with more material than sometimes out of work. Given the recent heat I bought a loose fitting, strappy knee length-ish dress, (Tesco woop woop!) but am SOOOO nervous to wear it! I've been cooking every day and the dress is so loose fitting and cool, I'm just daunted by getting my legs even slightly out :( a few others have done it this week, but I am so, so nervous.
ReplyTomorrow is 'dress day'.
Wish me luck...

ReplySuch a lovely dress, you look stunning! I opt for casual dresses and sandals in the heat, the best way to look nice but not be sweltering!
ReplyThis is a gorgeous outfit, the kind of thing I would definitely choose as office wear in this lovely weather :)
