Two Ticks With...Scarlett Fashion

Today I am super excited to introduce you to a really, really lovely boutique shop - Scarlett Fashion. You may have spotted an outfit post or two on here already, featuring some of their beautiful clothes; but what I really wanted to do was take two ticks so you guys could find out just how lovely they really are...
Hello, Scarlett Fashion! Thank you for choosing to advertise with Wonderful You this month. Could you take a few moments to tell my readers a little more about you?
Hi, nice to meet you all! I’m Karen Uttley, owner of Scarlett Fashion and mummy to two year old Scarlett. I started the company two years ago as a small, quirky, boutique in my local area in Lancashire. There was such a massive gap in the market for anyone who isn’t ready for elasticated waist bands and beige macks. I like to consider myself to be a yummy mummy, who adores the fantastic role of being a mother, but also loves to be a girl and enjoys fashion and dressing up. I have a great circle of yummy mummy friends who had no where to shop and it inspired me to start the store..
The store grew on-line and just seems to be growing and growing.
She is such a beauty! So, what do you most enjoy about running the store?
Since starting the business I have also started to blog (www.scarlettfashionblog.co.uk). I never imagined how much I would enjoy it! It has now become a real passion of mine and I have met so many lovely people, it is just so socialable! I just wish that there were more hours in the day as it is very time consuming. The other part that I love is ofcourse choosing the clothes for the next season. I adore visiting the fashion shows and trying to decide what will be on trend next season. Speaking to bloggers really helps.

Which brands do you carry?
We carry a real variety such as Yumi clothing, Sugarhill Boutique, TFNC, Miss Patina, B Young, Glamorous, Missco girl bags, Little Mistress and Paper Dolls. Most of the clothes I choose are things that I would wear myself. I am sure that my taste doesn’t suite everyone, but I struggle to buy things that I don’t like. At the end of the day I opened the store for women like me, so I like to think that people enjoy my style.

With so much competition on-line, why you do think that Scarlett Fashion stands out?
You’re right. It is really hard to compete in fashion online as so many of the high street shops are selling online and the massive stores who just specialize in online sales, so I am trying to keep small. The idea is not to become a faceless shop where you are greeted with an auto response, struggle to actually communicate with a person and receive your items in a plastic bag. We want to keep the boutique feeling and more importantly keep it personal. Everyone receives a personalised e-mail telling them exactly when their order will arrive. Each delivery is beautifully hand packed with a personal note. I really feel that customer service is key!

With a clear 'passion for fashion' how would you describe your personal style and in-turn the style of the shop?
All of the brands I pick are quite unique. You will not find a plethora on the market. For me, I hate it when some one can tell you where you bought your out fit from. It is so much nicer to be asked where you bought it.
I am average size, I have the things I like about my body and the things that I don’t like, so when I look for clothes I always try and find garments that I consider to be flattering. Stylish, unique and flattering.

What’s in store for Scarlett Fashion in 2014?
I think it will be a busy one! We are currently separating our online boutique with the actual store so that we can concentrate on on-line sales. We are moving this to a beautiful converted farm in the countryside, with a photo studio and beautiful landscapes for out door shots. We are currently reviewing the website and will re launch with a re vamp in the next 1-2 months introducing the SS14 collections.
We also hope to have more and more collaboration with bloggers.

Great, so maybe we could finish by you showing me your top January sale picks?
I have picked a mixture from some of my favourites: an aztec jumper from Yumi, the perfect little black dress from Sugarhill Boutique and the staple leather jacket from B Young. All in the sale at fab prices.
And a cheeky competition? Oh go on then...
We are currently holding a bloggers competition. It is called Dress up January. January is such a miserable month and everyone is penniless and has post Christmas blues. At Scarlett Fashion we thought a great way to cheer everyone up is to have a freebie. The idea is that you pick your favourite January sale outfit and the most creative wins the outfit.
