Yeah, blogging took a backseat this Christmas. It was a strange period for me, everything was different () and my mind just wasn’t in it. I needed some me time and writing stuff down just didn’t seem appealing. Not that you asked for an explanation, but you know, manners.
Now here I am, and what better way to start 2015 than with two of my favourite blogging ladies. and : for the next episode of .
Other women aren’t the competition.
And ain’t that so goddamn hard for us to accept? We’ve all wasted energy on being that girl – the one who isn’t so secretly jealous of her friends OR her enemies.
Ladies, let’s get one thing straight here. Jealousy: It isn’t attractive, it doesn’t help you get further and it doesn’t help you make friends. It’s really frickin’ ugly, actually.
Her success is not your failure, her destination isn’t your own.
We can all get there, and guess what? It’s so much easier when we’re all just a little bit more supportive of one another.
It's all a bit cliche isn't it, sisterhood. But that's what it boils down to, just having a little bit more respect for one another and learning from her successes rather than being boringly bitter.
Laura, Emma and I have a bit of a cheerleading session in this weeks video... and discuss why 2015 will be so much more kickass with a little less hating.
Great post and I love the video.

Nice one! This topic can't be stressed enough. I'll save this one for my next drawing session, motivational podcasts are the greatest to listen to while you work!
ReplyThere is no doubt that women feel threatened by other women, as a sex we are insecure! (OK, not everyone, but the majority). I think for me, rather than being "jealous" by other women, I beat myself up and feel that I'm just not good enough, not necessarily feeling any bitterness to the other woman, just feeling crap within myself. I think as women we need to work our self confidence. We all have our "special bits" and can't be everything! x
ReplyThis is such an excellent (and important post). So many women are focused with tearing each other down, when in the end we are all striving for the same thing. I love the illustration at the top, I'm going to print it out to remind me :)
